Vy’s Food Adventure In The US (Part 2)

My journey continued with even more international cuisines and sweet treats.

Sacramento, CA

13. Mexican food at Chando’s Tacos

Probably the most authentic Mexican food experience I had got.

14. Philly Cheesesteak at Johnny Rocket

I was more impressed with its atmosphere rather that its food quality. I and my international friends were looking for a 50’s American diner experience. Personally, I was looking for something like the ones in Pulp Fiction but this was lovely enough.

15. Blueberry Frozen Yogurt at Gunther’s Quality Ice Cream

According to locals, it is one of the best ice cream place in Sacramento yet for some reason I chose frozen yoghurt and I did regret later. Not because I did not like their yoghurt, it was just I did not have another chance to come back there for ice cream. So if you only have one go, go for their famous ice cream.

16. Sushi buffet at ?

I can’t remember the name of this place but it was a decent buffet with lots of choices.

17. The best dessert ever at Vampire Penguin

It was basically flavoured shaved ice which would melt in your mouth nicely. It was not fulfilling so be aware that you would want more.

18. Lamb Burger at Burgers and Brew

It was the first burger I had in America and it was so good. I particularly liked their crispy slices of bacon.

19. Sushi combo at Sushi Hook

This was the best place for saving money as I could had three meals out of one portion. We even got free edamame for checking in with Yelp.

20.  Japanese Crepe with Matcha Gelato and Red Bean Paste at Sophie’s Crepe

Their crepe was very crispy and the combination of matcha gelato with red bean paste just reminded me of how Japan tasted like – simple yet delicate.

21. Beef Burger and Animal Fries at In-N-Out Burger

In-N-Out Burger is a very famous chain of fast food in California. From what I know, they use fresh and local ingredients. I was really excited about their Secret Menu which everyone kept talking about. Obviously, Animal Fries, which were French fries topped with gravy, minced beef and mayonnaise or something similar, were must-try yet they don’t appear on their normal menu.
